Those many people there do not understand,
what surged forth here like the sea.
Why did the world errupt?
A People cried, And then became silent.
But now many people ask: What happened?
Why didn't they die out as expected?
Why didn't they meekly accept their fate?
And evermore asked - stammered - beacause they utterly did not understand.
Why was the sky torn apart?
Because a people said, "Enough!"
They who were born free do not understand,
They do not understand how great a thing is freedom.
